LLottie heard the knocking on the door. Naturally, her parents liked to welcome anybody who knocked, but she had an excuse this time. She knew Dirk had been following her. "Mum, dad, don't open the door!" Her mum answered in her sweet voice, "Lottie, don't worry. It's probably just some guy wanting to take a survey. Anyway, sweetie, cheer up- for tea is your favourite, spaghetti bolognais!" Her mum smiled, and told her to open the door, as she was busy inthe ktchen, but instead, Lottie found herself eyeing Dirk down through the letter box. She growled at him cautiously, and whispered, "Dirk, go away now!" The knocking continued. "Dirk, can you please go home? I don't like yo irk, ok? So well done, you know where I lve, bg round of applause! But please just go stalk some other girl, preferably your own age and mingle with her. I'm 15 and have a life." She felt guilty, yet again, she wasn't technically a mean person. But Dirk had started the impression on her that he meant buisness-just what sort?

Dirk rolled his eyes. She was being childish. Stalking her? "You have a vivid imagination," he hissed, then mumbled some things in German.
"I just want to talk to your parents to make sure they know what happened, now stop being silly," Dirk muttered. He wondered what gave her the impression he wanted to harm her. If he wanted to do that, he had ample opportunity when they were alone in the woods. No, instead he'd followed the real stalker, chased him off and saved her being robbed of any valuables she had on her, and possibly her bike.

Lottie sighed, one of her weaknesses was other people having he ability to push her around. "Fine," she snapped. She lunged the door open and made a hgand gesture to come in. "Mum," she said, behind gritted teeth, "there's somebody here to see you. A friend. He's called, um, Dirk." She stood there, hearing her mum's footsteps echo to where she was standing. Her mum looked confused, but smiled anyway. "Why, hello, Dirk. Why are you here sweetie?" Lottie looed at her mum, as if she was trying to tell her that Dirk was NOT a sweetie. Or a frend. "Yeah, Dirk, why are you here indeed?" Lottie said..

Dirk smiled politely at the pair. "Ah, guten tag. Nice to meet you," Dirk greeted Lottie's mum. "Lottie was on her way home today, and some guy tried to grab her. I managed to get rid of him," Dirk glanced at his obvious bruising, "but Lottie hurt her arm when he pushed her off her bike. I just wanted to make sure she got home safely, and you knew about the incident. I was going to contact the police to keep an eye out for the man, but whether you want to do that or not is up to you."
Dirk smiled at Lottie, and said through gritted teeth, "that's why I came here."

Lottie glared at Dirk. He was just making an appearance. To get around her parents. "Wel,, Dirk, that's very nice of you, but-" Her mother stepped in and finished off Lottie's sentence. "But, Dirk, we would like to thank you. Hang on a minute, I'll get Lottie's dad. Rob!" She called. In a minute or so, they were discussing it together and eventually turned to the others. "Well," her mother smiled sweetly," We wuold like to welcome Dirk for tea. Wouldn't we, Lottie?" She glared. Lottie smiled between gritted teeth. "Yes, Dirk, do come in for tea." She sid, agitated. "I hope you run along afterwards, though." She whispered.

Dirk felt bad for worrying her parents, but was glad they now knew, and had discussed it. "Eh... nein I can't be such a bother to you-." He started to mumble but realised just leaving would be as inconsiderate as going in uninvited.
"Uh...thanks..." he smiled as he stepped inside. "You really didn't have to." Dirk stared at his feet as Lottie hissed threats at him.
"If this sudden hatred for me is because I'm doing what's right, or because I'm German, then you're certainly not the person I thought I was helping when I stuck my talons in that guy's head and got the knocks to prove it," Dirk snapped at her, quiet enough that her parents wouldn't hear. He sighed, a depressed look on his face and followed her parents out of the porch, taking his shoes off. "Uh...where shall I put these?" He asked Lottie.
He wanted to ask her dad if he could take Lottie out for dinner the following evening. He had planned pizza hut, then a movie.

Lottie smiled at him. He was ok. But she was so confused. "Dirk, I just thought you were - you know, that kinda person, the person who stalks...girls? Listen to me, I'm so stupid." Lottie smiled to herself, and stared into his evolving eyes. She touched his hand gently, and smiled again. "Come upstairs with me, I want to show you something."

Dirk breathed a sigh of relief when she explained. He set his shoes down where the family appeared to put their shoes too. "I was starting to think you hated me for telling your parents, or something."
As she offered him to see something in her room he raised an eyebrow, and stared at bereftly. "Uh...mädchen, bekümmert, I cannot go in your room..." He said slowly. "Uh... your parents would mind, wouldn't they?"

Lottie sighed. Yes, they would mind, but as long as it was a simple walk in and look situation, it would be ok. After all, she was 15. "Just look at it." She rolled her eyes, and opened the door. Inside, it was purple everything. In every corner was a horse poster, and in one particular corner was a red rosette. It was on the dusty side, and looked like it had a lot of history, too. "This is my grandma's old horse riding rosette. She died riding." Lottie paused, then took a deep breath, and continued. "It was for a show jumping competition, 30 years ago. She won by far, but at the last minute, the horse-it bucked her off." Lottie led Dirk around the room, and pointed to her picture's of horses. "These horses are my parent's. They earn a stables in Dartmoor. It's lovely there. One day, I might have a horse. I ride my mum's, Cobweb. She's beautiful, but a pony." She sat down on one of her beanbags, and gestured Dirk to do so.

Dirk gave a guilty smile and hesitantly followed her. His expression turned to slightly shocked when they went into her bedroom, which was entirely purple - though that shouldn't have surprised him. She was a girl, after all.
He noticed all the horsey stuff. "You must be very into horses then, if you have a room like this, and your parents and all that..." Dirk smiled and sat down next to her, his brow furrowed. Her gran died riding? Yikes. It was a wonder her family weren't put off after that, Dirk thought, but didn't say anything. He wasn't comfortable being in the room of someone he'd just met a few hours ago, but he supposed now was the time to ask.
"Um... would you like to go watch a movie with me one evening? Maybe tonight or tomorrow?" Dirk asked, his voice shaky.

Lottie was surprised at his sudden interest in her. She had heard all of the stories of people who did it to kidnap young girls, but Dirk would have done that by now, wouldn't he?!? "Um, yeah, sure, Dirk, but-" Lottie wasn't sure what movie they'd even watch, a boy one or a soppy love story? Ugh. Neither of those genres were-particuarly appealing. "Ok, but I'm going to have to ask first. And yes, I am very interested in horses. And music, especially." Lottie hesitated. "Come to think of it, lets ask now! Maybe you'd like to join us at the stables some time?" She held his hand and took him out of her room.

Dirk smiled. At least he hadn't been rejected. Next step, winning over her parents. "Thanks. You can pick the movie cause I don't really know what to watch, at the best of times," Dirk grinned as she talked about her interests.
As she took his hand and lead him out the room, suggesting they should go ask her parents now, and also that he should visit the stables Dirk stared at their hands. Well that was a big step, from her accusing him of being a stalker (which he definitely wasn't) to holding his hand. "Um...sure?" He said in reply to going to the stables. Horses weren't a big deal to him, but he wanted to see where Lottie hung out anyway. And meet the alleged Cobweb.

Lottie smiled. "Well, it might be a bit too girly for you." She stared at her hands, and then up at Dirk. She wanted to kiss him. They soon reached her parents. "Mum, dad, Dirk was wondering if we could go to the conema. Me and him. Now." Her mum looked relieved, finally, her girl had a boy sort of friend! "Of course love, back by 10." Her dad was astonished. "What?!? She's only a child. Your mother must accompany you." Lottie frowned. "But, dad, I'm 15!" Her parents exchanged glances. "Look, they'll be ok. Just no kissing, ok?" "Sure, mum, see you later, and thanks, big time!" And they were off.

Dirk pulled his hand away from Lottie's as they approached her parents. He panicked as they spoke, and stood behind saying nothing. Her mum seemed fairly pleased with the idea, and then her dad spoke. Dirk winced as her dad complained, demanding her mum went with them. Luckily though, Lottie's mum insisted not, and Lottie lead the pair out of the house.
"Uh...I tell you what, you wait here and go get yourself... ready and stuff, and I'll be back in ten minutes," Dirk smiled and turned into his falcon form and flew quickly back to his home. Once there he turned back into his human form and ran inside to grab two bottles of coke and some chocolate to share, pulled on his helmet, and started his motorbike, then drove back to Lottie.
He took his helmet off and motioned with his head for Lottie to get on the back of the black bike. "Saves catching the bus." He grinned and waited for her to get on. "I'm careful, don't worry."

"Wow, Dirk, it's beautiful!" Lottie smiled at him, and took his hand. "Dirk, I want to tell you something." She lead him down the back of her street, and pushed him against. the wall. "Ok, don't worry, this looks wrong, but, it isn't." Lottie took her hand away from his. "How do you feel about me, Dirk? I mean, do you see me as a friend? As a-maybe a, you know, a girlfriend?"

Dirk smiled at her when she spoke. He'd expected her to panic that he thought she should ride the bike, and let him drive, but she hadn't.
When she took his hand and yanked him off though Dirk scrambled to keep the bike upright and put it on its stand before she dragged him down the back of her street.
Looked wrong? Hah! Dirk raised an eyebrow. "Uh..." He stammered, not really knowing what to say. When she asked how he felt about her he stared at his feet, fidgeting. He pursed his lips in thought. Best answer this one in German. "Freundin wäre schön, aber ... Sie wissen. Nur Freunde, wenn es das ist, wie Sie es wollen. Ich habe nichts dagegen, aber ich mag dich wirklich. Und bedauern, Ihnen in deutscher Sprache zu beantworten, kann ich nicht wirklich wissen, wie man Sie in einer Sprache, die Sie verstehen, zu erzählen." Dirk said, then smiled sheepishly at the end.

Lottie smiled. "Dirk, I have no idea what that means. But as it didn'ts seem like a 'I hate you get away from me'sort of tone, I think you wouldn't mind if I did this." Lottie softly kissed him on the lips, and pulled away. Then she looked uncertain. "Um, sorry about that. I hope I haven't disturbed you. I just felt weird, that's all." She smiled at Dirk uncertainly. "Better get off, then. Hey, hello little fellow!" She exclaimed, eyeing a siamese cat. It was licking its paws with a smirk on its face. Must have been watching. Lottie walked over to the little cat and stroked her ears, making her purr affectionately. "Did you know, Dirk, on the subject of animals, a popular way to see if a horse is cold is to feel the back bottom bit of its ears. If that bit si cold, then he or she might be a bit chilly." Lottie blused, smiled, and walked over to the motorbike. "Look, Dirk, that was quite rude of me. Please excuse me for my outrageous behaviour. Gosh, I sound like a devoted nut case now. Silly old me. Well, I suppose, let's just forget that event, hmmm?" And she placed one of the motorbike helmets onto her head, fastening the fastwn as she did so. "Hop on, Dirk." She said cheerfully, as if it were hers all along.

Dirk raised an eyebrow as Lottie spoke, and before he could translate for her, she kissed him. He was going to push her off, tell her she would get herself into trouble, but she pulled away anyway. Dirk sniffed and rubbed the back of his neck, laughing nervously.
Well, that was weird.
He watched as she stroked the cat, talking about horses. No he didn't know that, but hearing that horses were different to ponies was news for him too. "No I didn't," he smiled and shook his head. "No, don't apologise just... be careful. I don't want your parents to get mad at either of us."
Dirk followed her to his bike, glad she had no problem of putting on a helmet, then pulled on his. As he sat down, gribbing the handles with his gloved hands he smirked. "You better hold on," then he revved the bike and drove off, before her parents could see who was on the bike.

Lottie smiled as her hair flew out behind her. She was nervous, as this was her first time on such a motor bike, but it was awesome. And scary. "Dirk," Lottie pondered, "Did you enjoy the - kiss?" This was spoken very nervously, as she hadn't ever done this before. What if he turned away from her altogether? "So, Dirk, what do you want to watch at the cinema? I was thinking we could go and buy some pizza or something first. I'll pay, if you don't mind, I should help you out a bit." She said, changing the subject, although she hadn't much money, only a five pound note. Dirk was very good at steering, not even coming across many cars. "Which route is this, Dirk? I prefer to take the more public routes, if you know what I mean. It's safer, isn't it? Well, I atleast thought so and I think so still. Oh and by the way, the ear check thing is the same for ponies."

Dirk took the back route into town, heading through Plymstock. Arguably it probably was a longer route, but the sea views on the Hoe and Barbican were lovely, especially out in the open on the back. "I've...never really been kissed before. And I was a bit too surprised to really know what to think, to be honest. But I wouldn't say I disliked it," Dirk answered indifferently and parked the bike in the leisure centre car park. He took off his helmet and hooked it under his arm.
"You're not buying anything. My treat," Dirk snapped. "Pizza first, yup. Then you can pick a film. Anything you like, I don't mind. Or alternatively we could go bowling. I've brought enough money in my wallet for either. Your choice."
